FOOTBALL ECHO EXCLUSIVE: NIALL Quinn fears the growing number of fans watching Black Cats’ games in pubs could derail the whole ambitious Sunderland project.
Chairman Quinn warns that Sunderland’s progress is in jeopardy if the trend towards fans turning their back on the Stadium of Light to watch live games at local pubs continues.
He said: “The number of fans not coming to the games, the number of fans who are choosing instead to watch it in the pubs, is having a massive effect on our attendances.
“I believe all the evidence is that we are going in the right direction, but we might have to look again if our crowds keep dropping.”
