DESPITE the mauling they received against Huddersfield Town at Leeds Road on Saturday, there is a chance that Sunderland will be able to field an unchanged side for another tough test against Aston Villa at Villa Park tomorrow night.

The only doubt concerns Mick McGiven, who has been receiving treatment for a bruised calf. He reported at Washington New Town training centre this morning and a decision on his availability will be taken later today.

If McGiven has to stand down, his place at No. 7 will be taken by Billy Hughes, with Jimmy Hamilton taking over the substitute spot and Richie Pitt travelling as reserve.

The team will be: Montgomery, Malone and Coleman, Horswill, Ashurst and Porterfield, McGiven (or Hughes), Kerr, Watson, Lathan and Tueart. Substitute, Hamilton; reserve, Pitt.
