Lee Cattermole says he is ready to return to the first team squad against Watford on Saturday.
The influential midfielder has missed most of the season but has recently returned to full training.
He took part in a behind closer doors game against the U23 side during the international break and says he is now ready to be involved.
David Moyes will weigh up whether to use him at Vicarage Road, with another crucial game against Leicester City next Tuesday.
He told safc.com: "Ideally maybe I would have liked a couple of reserve games but the way their fixtures have fell it hasn't worked out. But mentally I'm in a good place and I'm ready to be involved.
"I had a brief chat with the manager, I told him I was mentally in a good place, feeling confident with where i'm at. I might have liked to have had a couple of reserve games but I certainly don't feel like I need them, so I think it is a good time to be in and around the squad and I'm ready to play my part."
