TWO MORE of Sunderland’s youngsters have headed out on loan after Jordan Cook and Louis Laing agreed one-month stints in League One.

Black Cats boss Martin O’Neill has been eager to blood the club’s academy products into first-team football, with seven players now plying their football away from the Stadium of Light.

Cook completed a switch to play-off chasing Carlisle yesterday, while Laing moved to third bottom Wycombe, to follow John Egan, Trevor Carson, Blair Adams, Billy Knott and Ben Wilson out on loan.

Easington Lane-born forward Cook, who has enjoyed previous loan spells with Walsall and Darlington, joins ex-Sunderland team-mate Liam Noble at Brunton Park after the midfielder made a permanent move to Cumbria last week.

“As soon as I had the nod from Martin O’Neill, I couldn’t wait to get signed,” said the 21-year-old.
