FORMER Sunderland defender John Mensah is a Bosman target for West Ham.
Mensah’s contract at French club Lyon was terminated by mutual consent during the summer after the 29-year-old made just one domestic appearance last season.
The Ghanaian, who made 35 appearances during two injury-hit season-long loans with Sunderland, has been linked with a reunion with former Black Cats boss Steve Bruce at Hull City, while Celtic have also been interested.
But West Ham are now reportedly ready to offer the centre-half a contract at Upton Park despite Sam Allardyce bringing in 11 new signings during the transfer window.
Mensah’s new agent Willie McKay said: “Several clubs want to sign John but he is keen to join West Ham.”
