CRAIG Gordon is training with Hearts after turning down the chance to join SPL champions Celtic.

Released Sunderland keeper Gordon was reportedly offered a three-year deal by Celtic last week, only to reject the deal with Neil Lennon’s side.

Celtic have subsequently signed Newcastle United’s Fraser Forster on a permanent deal after the Hexham-born stopper spent last season on loan at Parkhead.

Gordon will now look to explore options both abroad and in the Premier League, where he has been linked to the likes of Wigan, West Brom and Arsenal.

In the meantime, Gordon is working with former club Hearts during pre-season after the Tynecastle club offered the 29-year-old the chance to train while he bids to find a new deal.

Gordon was released by the Sunderland at the end of last season after the £9million man’s five-year deal at the Stadium of Light reached its conclusion.

Britain’s most expensive stopper featured just once for Sunderland’s first-team last season – April’s draw with Bolton – after failing to win back his place following a long-term knee injury.

Gordon’s appearance against the Trotters was his first competitive game since February 2011, with the Scotland international now needing to prove his fitness to any future employers.

H Southampton will ignore any bids for highly-rated full-back Luke Shaw., 16. Chelsea are reportedly poised to offer £4million for him.
