A CRUEL ending to the game doesn’t take away any of the pride we can have for the lads’ performance at the Sports Direct Arena.
The fact is that but for Sessegnon’s moment of madness, we would have won that game perhaps scoring another one or two in the process. Sess will be a big miss, especially for the cup game.
It was a red card, no question, but Tiote’s reaction to it was embarrassing.
Talking of embarrassing, Alan Pardew is an absolute joke. His posturing for the benefit of the fans and cameras on the touchline is cringeworthy and its surprising the referee didn’t have a word with him about his behaviour towards my hero Martin O’Neill.
In the first half, we far outplayed them and fully deserved our half-time lead and in the second half we defended magnificently. All the credit in the game goes to Sunderland.
Bendtner was excellent up front. If only we could get him playing like that every week. Cattermole was excellent again, its just a shame about his foolish sending off because we’ll miss him.
O’Shea and Turner were great again too. We can move on, heads held high and look forward to good times to come with Martin O’Neill.
