THIS was always going to be a very tough game against a team that I believe will go very close to winning the title this season, writes Paul Welch
For the first half, we were like uncle Albert – all at sea! But the second half was definitely more promising.
All three of Arsenal’s goals had a touch of class in them and if it wasn’t for a couple of smart stops by Westwood, it may well have been more.
I thought Arsenal’s new signing had a good game – but I’m talking about Martin Atkinson not Mesut Ozil! He may as well as have worn a yellow shirt, because we were playing against 12 men all game.
And I’m not just talking about that shocker of a decision in disallowing Altidore’s goal. He just didn’t seem to give us anything all day.
Ki had a tidy game but he looks very lightweight. Craig Gardner had a decent second half and strikes a very good penalty.
It was also good to see Fletcher get a good run-out and young Marvias showed some promise.
Although we lost the game, we played some positive football second half against a very slick Arsenal side. If we can play that way from the start against West Brom, we’ll be a in with a shout of winning.
