THE fallout from derby day is over, now it is time to face the harsh reality of an arduous trip to the Britannia Stadium to face Stoke City.
An away game against Tony Pulis’ men is one of the hardest fixtures of the season, although we came away with all three points in our last meeting, anything less than our best tomorrow won’t see us be as fortunate.
We may not have been much of an attacking threat this season – aside from Steven Fletcher – but our back four and keeper Simon Mignolet have been solid enough and will have to continue to be so against a physical side who have an in-form Peter Crouch at their disposal.
I feel as though I’m repeating myself and have lost count at the amount of times I’ve said Sessegnon, McClean and Johnson need to be on form, tomorrow is no different.
We’re starting to run out of excuses for the trio and sooner, rather than later, one or two of the three have to be dropped.
Hopefully things start to fall in place tomorrow.
Prediction: Stoke 1 Sunderland 2.
