SO, another disappointing result leading on to another game where Bruce and the lads have to win the fans back. I wouldn’t expect the turnout to be good after Monday’s performance.
I’m usually the most optimistic of fans and if there are games we can win big (and there are times we should) I will stick my neck out and say so. But it has taken just six games to lose my faith.
The last straw was the Norwich game.
After weeks of people staunchly sticking up for Bruce – expecting the turnaround to happen – hopes were raised so high against Stoke, only to be driven further back than before.
Tomorrow’s game, against relatively poor opposition, is now a must-win.
Last season, I expected six points against West Brom but we didn’t show up for either game, and I fear we will see more of the same this time around.
I expect Bruce will stick one up front with Sess just behind – the famous tactic that creates two chances in a game when we need 7-10 chances minimum. Then we will see Ji or Wickham brought on too late.
Prediction: Sunderland 1 WBA 1
