SO, we have to replay at Boro.
I have to say I didn’t see this as a possibility when we had them at our place, but there were signs of the typical derby performance we are used to seeing from us – the type of form that sees us go from an in-form Premiership team to a team of players who can’t handle the pressure of playing against someone a couple of miles up or down the road.
In the first half I heard a couple of fans question if they knew it was a derby, and they were right too. If it wasn’t for Fraizer and his sheer determination, we would have been looking at a humiliation.
Now, we have to put it right and what better way to do it than at their place in front of their fans.
It always seems the way with derbies that form goes out of the window but this is one we should win.
I hope O’Neill has driven it into the lads that nothing less than 200 per cent will do for us fans. Let’s show that flair we have in league matches and take it to the cup.
Prediction: Middlesbrough 0 Sunderland 3.
