Echo Jury: Michael Glancy looks ahead to the Wigan Athletic game at the Stadium of Light

Have your say

AFTER the dreadful home game last weekend, we welcome bottom-of-the-table Wigan, who haven’t won since the end of August!

However, given our home form since the start of 2011, this one has a draw written all over it.

Seb Larsson should be back for the lads after being suspended last weekend. Hopefully he will return in place of the disappointing Elmohamady. Given the recent comments by Bruce to media, it wouldn’t surprise me to see Richardson start up-front alongside Bendtner.

This is a must-win game. It’s absolutely vital that we claim three points against a Wigan team who are rock bottom of the league and desperately low on confidence.

I’ve said this a few times already this season but if we don’t beat Wigan, then time is surely up for Steve Bruce.

I’d like us to start with a 4-4-2 formation and actually attack Wigan from the kick-off. If we can get an early goal and the crowd gets behind the lads, it could be an easy victory and restore some much-needed confidence.

As I’ve not predicted anything right this season and we really need to win this game, I’m going to go for a score draw with Richardson getting our goal.

Prediction: Sunderland 1 Wigan 1
