AFTER a hard-fought draw against Everton we now face a difficult trip to Blackburn, who are currently fighting for their Premier League lives.
They have picked up of late, and have some very good players in their side. The likes of Olsson, Yakubu and Dunn are all quick, attacking players who, on their day, can be clinical. It’s up to us to stop them.
I’d imagine that MON will leave out some of the players who started the game on Saturday, as some players need a rest. Larsson, in particular, looks very tired.
However, the inevitable inclusion of Sessegnon on Saturday means that Campbell will probably be dropped, meaning O’Neill will probably start him up front with Bendtner in an attacking 4-4-2 line-up.
Instead of the tired Larsson, I would like to see McClean drafted in on the right and we could see if he could play the Ashley Young/Arjen Robben role of cutting in on his strongest foot and causing headaches for defenders.
Hopefully, with a few fringe players starting, it will give them the chance to stake their claim for the first team and put in a good performance.
Prediction: Blackburn 1 Sunderland 2.
