CAN we win it? Yes we can, writes Tony Potts.
Will we win it? Now that is a different question altogether!
However, we are certainly capable of doing so and perhaps we are in with more of a shout than some people think.
As I said before the first leg, things are not what they used to be at Old Trafford and may even be slightly worse for them now with Vidic’s suspension adding to their injury woes.
It is all about Sunderland as far as we are concerned. While I am not overly bothered about any prospect of a Europa League campaign, I do want to get to a Wembley final and try to win a trophy.
I think we will probably need to score to give us a chance of going through as I would be surprised if we managed to keep a clean sheet.
The pressure is all on them and David Moyes, as this is almost certainly their only route to silverware now.
They will probably look to press and squeeze us on the ball to force errors in our possession style of play, and they will build up heads of steam at times – but if we can keep our composure on the ball and take any chances that come our way, then we may just make it.
I would not rule out extra-time and the dreaded you-know-what!
Prediction: Man Utd 2 Sunderland 1
