THE buzz of excitement for the first home game of the season has finally arrived.
Last week’s result at Arsenal and a few new faces have only added to that feeling. With Saha & Fletcher both available to play it’ll be interesting to see what system the manager plays.
I’d expect Saha to start up front with Sessegnon pottering about behind him. With Fletcher signing, I’d expect him to take a place on the bench.
Other than Campbell making way for Saha, I’d imagine it will be the same line-up that defended so well at the Emirates. Hopefully, the likes of McClean and Larsson will have more of an impact on the game tomorrow. They were both very quiet at Arsenal, but they should both test Reading’s defence this weekend.
Reading have played well in their two games back in with the big boys and were very unlucky to come away from Stamford Bridge without any points. I do think their goalkeeper looks a bit shaky; Sunderland’s front four should be looking to test him out at every opportunity.
Defensively we’ll be hoping for the same as last Saturday. The whole of the back four were excellent and should keep Reading at bay.
With the new lads in and a decent crowd, I can only see one outcome. Home win.
Prediction: Sunderland 3 Reading 1.
