DICK Advocaat could turn to Adam Johnson and Duncan Watmore for tomorrow’s game against West Ham United.

The new Sunderland head coach was giving his first media interviews today since taking over from Gus Poyet.

He is weighing up his squad ahead of tomorrow’s trip to West Ham United, with Johnson – on police bail – having returned to training this week after the end of his suspension.

Advocaat is also looking at the club’s younger players, with winger Watmore tipped to be in the squad.

The 67-year-old said: “Every player who trains has an opportunity to start against West Ham tomorrow.

“A number of the under-21s have been involved in training. Watmore has done well and could feature tomorrow.

“I have not picked the squad because we still have a final training session this afternoon before we fly to London.

“Johnson is one of the players who could be picked.

“The fans need to know something is changing. We need them behind us, they can be our 12th man. We must show them what it means to us.”
