Sunderland winger Will Buckley has been linked with a deadline-day switch to newly-promoted Bournemouth.

The Black Cats are pro-actively looking to shift Buckley before tonight’s 6pm transfer deadline, with Dick Advocaat making it clear to the ex-Brighton man that he has no future at the Stadium of Light.

Reports today have indicated that Bournemouth could be surprise suitors for Buckley, with fellow winger Max Gradel facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines through injury.

Leeds United have been interested in Buckley too, yet the Championship side’s interest has cooled due to problems covering his wages.

Sunderland are also keen to offload Buckley’s former Brighton team-mate Liam Bridcutt, who has been linked with a loan switch to Sheffield Wednesday.

However, sources in Yorkshire have indicated that Wednesday are only looking to bring in another striker before the deadline.
