Spennymoor Town today cut Sunderland RCA’s lead at the top of the STL Northern League to six points – and Moors have three games in hand on Neil Hixon’s men.
Moors secured a 2-0 victory in their must-win clash at the Brewery Field to move on to 76 points. RCA are on 82 with four games to play.
FA Vase finalists West Auckland (72 points with 1-0 games left) and Dunston UTS (71 points, with 11 matches to play) are also in the running for the title.
Meanwhile, Tow Law inched closer to relegation when they lost 3-0 at home to Bedlington Terriers.
