PAPISS Cisse has been ruled out of action up to four months after undergoing surgery on a broken kneecap.
The striker had an operation in Paris yesterday on the injury he picked up against Swansea last month.
Newcastle manager Alan Pardew said: “Unfortunately, Papiss has broken his kneecap.
“He’s had an operation, and will be out for two or three, or maybe four, months.
“I’m so disappointed for him. He’s always given 100 per cent.”
The 28-year-old will spend his rehabilitation period at the Clairefontaine Medical Centre before returning to Tyneside to be further assessed by the club’s medical staff.
