NEWCASTLE defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa has written to Samir Nasri apologising for the tackle which left him facing eight weeks on the sidelines.
Nasri suffered a knee injury after Yanga-Mbiwa caught him late in Newcastle United’s 2-0 defeat to Manchester City last weekend.
Yanga-Mbiwa reportedly attempted to speak to his France team-mate without success earlier this week.
United manager Alan Pardew today said: “Mapou’s sent a letter to Samir Nasri.
“There was no malicious intent. He is his fellow player in the national side.”
City manager Manuel Pellegrini has revealed that Nasri – who suffered damage to his medial ligament – is facing around two months on the sidelines.
