ALAN Pardew hailed his players for sticking to the game plan against West Brom – and also praised Ayoze Perez’s ‘special goal’.
Perez opened the scoring with a superb backheel on the stroke of half-time as Newcastle won 2-0 at the Hawthorns.
Captain Fabricio Coloccini headed home the second but it was a ‘disciplined ‘and committed team display by Newcastle which pleased manager Pardew.
“It was a really professional and disciplined performance,” he said.
“They stuck to the game plan and the players are carrying it out to the letter.
“But you still need moments to inspire and the first goal was really special and worthy of winning any game.”
