PAPISS Cisse Is ready to put his World Cup heartache behind him – by hitting form at Newcastle United.
The striker returned to Tyneside from international this week disappointed after Senegal were beaten in a World Cup play-off by Ivory Coast.
However, Cisse’s frustration was not evident on the training pitch yesterday ahead of tomorrow’s home game against Norwich City.
“He was absolutely brilliant – he was our best player on the training ground,” said manager Alan Pardew.
“That’s really good to see. He’s focused on getting back in the team and scoring goals.
“He’s a big player for us, and we need him in the goals.
“I’ve been really boosted by his personality and performance.”
Cisse – who is yet to score a Premier League goal this season – lost his place in Newcastle’s starting XI last month.
