NEWCASTLE United and Sunderland have no representatives in the latest England squad, which was announced today.
England are set to face Slovenia in a European Championship qualifier on November 15, and Scotland in a friendly three days later.
There will be no Newcastle or Sunderland players representing the Three Lions, although both clubs have one academy graduate in the squad.
Southampton goalkeeper Fraser Forster – who came through the ranks at Newcastle – is selected, along with former Sunderland midfielder Jordan Henderson.
However, there is again no place for Newcastle midfielder Jack Colback, who received his first senior call-up earlier this season.
West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino has been handed his maiden call-up, while there are recalls for West Ham’s Stewart Downing and Manchester United’s Michael Carrick.
Arsenal forward Theo Walcott and Everton’s Ross Barkley – both of whom have just returned from injury – are also included, as is Luke Shaw of Man United, former Newcastle midfielder James Milner and ex-Sunderland loanee Danny Welbeck.
