NEWCASTLE United target Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is not looking for a move from German giants Borussia Dortmund.

The Gabon striker has been linked with a move to Chelsea, Newcastle and Roma just 12 months after his £10m transfer from St Etienne to Dortmund.

Reports claimed the 25-year-old has a £6m release clause in his contract, and that Dortmund were prepared to offload the forward.

But Aubameyang’s father – also called Pierre-Emerick – says his son will be staying in Germany next season.

“There’s no truth to the rumour,” Aubameyang Senior told German newspaper Bild.

“My son stays in Dortmund. BVB have done a lot to facilitate his integration and he really likes it here.

“And apart from that no one at Dortmund has told us that the club want to sell my son.

“Quite the opposite, it is very important to me that he listens to the advice given by his bosses so that he can become a complete player.”

Aubameyang was used mainly as a substitute in his first season at Dortmund, but still scored 13 goals and provided four assists.

The forward was a target for Newcastle last summer, before opting to join Dortmund, but the Magpies have revived their interest after becoming aware that the German side may be willing to sell him.

Newcastle are in desperate need for striker reinforcements, with loannees Loic Remy and Luuk de Jong not returning next season, and Shola Ameobi having left the club.

That just leaves Papiss Cisse as the only senior striker on the books, though Yoan Gouffran can also play up front.
