AYOZE Perez netted two prestigious awards in Spain – after getting his first Newcastle United goal.
Perez was honoured at the Liga de Futbol Profesional’s annual awards ceremony in Madrid last night.
The 21-year-old – who scored Newcastle’s winner in Sunday’s 1-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane – was named the Best Breakthrough Player in the Liga Adelante last season.

Perez scored 16 goals in 34 appearances for Tenerife in Spain’s second division last term before moving to St James’s Park in the summer.
“I want to thank my ex-team-mates from Tenerife for this trophy,” said Perez. “Without them it wouldn’t have been possible.”
He was also named as the division’s Best Attacking Midfielder at a star-studded ceremony.
Perez was given special dispension to travel to Spain for the ceremony by United ahead of tomorrow’s fourth-round Capital One Cup tie against Manchester City at Eastlands.
Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo, meanwhile, as named as La Liga’s Best Player.
Ronaldo’s team-mate Sergio Ramos was given the Best Defender award.
