Mags’ plans hit by snow

NEWCASTLE United’s preparations for tomorrow night’s Europa League game at Bordeaux have been hit by the weather.

Alan Pardew and his players left for France several hours late after snow delayed flights leaving Newcastle Airport.

The squad had been due to leave early in the afternoon after a morning training session at the Magpies’ Benton HQ.

However, the club’s chartered aircraft was unable to take off until the snow showers stopped and the runway was cleared.

And Pardew’s pre-match press conference at the Stade Chaban-Delmas was cancelled.

United’s squad will not arrive in France until later this evening.
