Georginio Wijnaldum says he doesn't care if he scores or not – as long as Newcastle United win the derby.
Wijnaldum scored four goals in last weekend's 6-2 win over Norwich City at St James's Park.
And the midfielder, signed from PSV Eindhoven in the summer, has revealed that fans have been "begging" him to score a winning goal against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on Sunday.
In an interview with BBC's Football Focus, the 24-year-old said: "Everybody's talking about it, especially the fans I meet on the street or in the supermarket.
"They all talk about the game, because the last five times they have lost the game and they want a win now.
"They are almost begging me to win the game. I can see how important it is to win the game for the fans.
"If you look at the rankings we are both at the bottom of the league and this game is important for both of us. If we win we can look up, if we lose we must look down."
Wijnaldum added: "If we win without me scoring, I'm also happy."
