SUNDERLAND starlet Daniel Wright and Newcastle United stopper Paul Woolston have been called up by England.

Wright, from South Shields, and Woolston have been selected for England U17s’ upcoming UEFA Euro 2017 qualifiers against Norway, Slovenia and Romania.

Midfielder Wright again makes the grade after impressing coach John Peacock during November’s Nike International Tournament.

The England head coach, who guided the Young Lions to Euro success last season, includes 11 of the squad that romped through the first round qualifiers with a 100 per cent record back in October.

The Young Lions beat Cyprus, Macedonia and France last Autumn.

The Elite Round Qualifiers see England take on Norway, Slovenia and Romania, with the top two placed sides out of the group of four sealing a place at the showpiece tournament in Bulgaria in May.
