STEVEN Taylor might again be absent through injury when Newcastle United take on Tottenham, but Fabricio Coloccini is confident he and defensive partner Mike Williamson can keep Harry Redknapp’s side at bay.
Taylor has missed Newcastle’s last two games with a hamstring problem.
And the 24-year-old’s absence has seen Williamson return to Alan Pardew’s side, and he and Coloccini awere outstanding in Sunday’s 1-1 draw at Sunderland.
“We have good players in defence,” Coloccini said. “There are options for the manager, and when somebody’s out, we’re still strong.
“Willo did really well, and he played very well against West Ham too. That can only be good for the team.”
However, Coloccini knows Redknapp’s side, and especially wingers Gareth Bale and Aaron Lennon, will relishing playing on St James’s Park’s large pitch.
“We have a big pitch, and they play very well with the ball,” he said.
