MATHIEU Debuchy has cast doubt on his Newcastle United future – after admitting he “misses” playing European football.
Debuchy, who joined the Magpies in January 2013 from Lille, says he enjoys playing for Newcastle and their “extraordinary” fans.
However, the right-back has refused to commit his future to the club, and says he will make a decision after his involvement in the World Cup with France ends.
The 28-year-old said: “I have discovered English charm, Newcastle and their extraordinary fans.
“It’s really incredible to play in that atmosphere.
“Having said that, I miss European football and the Champions League in particular.
“For the moment, I’m concentrating on the World Cup, and we’ll see about the rest afterwards.”
Paris Saint-Germain and Roma have been linked with a move for Debuchy in recent weeks.
Debuchy’s good friend Yohan Cabaye joined PSG in January.
