NEWCASTLE United striker Adam Campbell has returned to St James’s Park after his loan at Carlisle was cut short.
The 18-year-old joined the League One club on a month-long loan a fortnight ago.
But Campbell is returning to Newcastle early after making just one substitute’s appearance.
A Carlisle statement read: “A return to action for Lee Miller meant that opportunities to add to that tally were limited, and following consultation between the clubs, it was felt that the best course of action for the players was to allow him to return to train with his parent club.”
Highly-rated Campbell made five substitute appearances for Newcastle last season.
