Mitrovic was born in the Serbian city of Smederevo on September 16 , 1994.

He joined Partizan Belgrade at the age of ten and progressed through the ranks of the Serbian giants.

The striker made his senior debut for Teleoptik, the affiliated club of Partizan, and netted seven goals in the 2011/12 campaign.

The summer of 2012 saw Mitrovic sign his first professional contract with Partizan Belgrade, and soon after he made his bow for them in a Champions League qualifier – scoring against Maltese side Valletta.

Despite his tender years, he finished his first season with Belgrade as their top scorer, finding the back of the net 15 times at a rate of almost a goal every other game.

In August 2013, Mitrovic joined Belgian side Anderlecht for a reported €5million – their record transfer fee.

After two assists on his debut, the striker showcased his talents at the other end of the pitch a couple of months later, going in goal after keeper Silvio Proto had been sent off in a Champions League tie against Olympiacos.

One of Mitrovic’s most famous goals for Anderlecht came in December 2014 at the Emirates Stadium, as they fought back from 3-0 down to record a draw in the Champions League. The front man bagged the equaliser in the 90th minute.

In his two seasons at Anderlecht, Mitrovic scored 36 goals in just 69 appearances, helping his side lift the Belgian Pro League title and Belgian Super Cup in 2014.

After representing Serbia at Under-19 and Under-21 level, Mitrovic made his senior international debut in June 2013. To date he has one goal from 13 caps.
