AQUATIC Sports will play Hendon in the final of the Alan Hood Memorial Trophy – the last under the auspices of the Wearside Combination League.

Aquatic joined Hendon in the final by coming through a tough semi-final tie against Hall Farm at Herrington, winning 2-0.

Shaun McGregor was the visitors’ man of the match, but the goal heroes were Thomas Tansey and Michael Conlon.

Josh Tuckwell starred in vain for Farm.

Table-toppers Hendon edged a 2-1 victory at Corner Flag in the first leg of their TWR Bifolds Challenge Cup second round tie.

Adam Cushingham and Steven Clark grabbed the vital goals, with Graeme Thornton star man for the champions elect.

Oddies crushed Dynamos Last Orders 10-3 in the league, although the battling bottom side produced a spirited performance featuring a man-of-the-match display by keeper Scott Leeming.

John Smith (2) and sub Gareth Johnson fired Dynamos’ consolations.

University of Sunderland eased to a 4-1 victory over Park View, making it four wins and four defeats in their nine league matches so far. Rob Berry netted fir View.
