HENDON proved too strong for Aquatic Sports as they claimed a place in the Wearmouth and Hylton Charity Cup final.

The title favourites eased home 5-1 to secure a second final appearance of the campaign, having already set up an Alan Hood Memorial Trophy final date with Aquatic -– at Boldon CA on Easter Monday (10.30am).

Adam Cushingham’s double proved decisive for Hendon, with Leighton Cooney, star man Steven Clark and sub Adam Wasey also on target.

Aquatic had man of the match Ryan Morse on target.

Hall Farm regained top spot in the league thanks to a 2-0 success at Dynamos Last Orders.

Dynamos battled bravely, with keeper Scott Leeming man of the match for the bottom side, but even he could not deny strikes from Farm star man Richard Timm and Chris Bewick.

Victory took Farm up to 33 points from 14 games, but Hendon have the title in their hands, sitting on 31 from 11.

Whitburn Village enjoyed a Dale Wells hat-trick as they outgunned Park View 8-1 in the TWR Bifolds Subsidiary League.

Bailey Doyle, sub Barry Sutton, man of the match Kevin Friedel, Gary Brook and Connor Sutton also struck, with Brett Reay firing View’s reply. Rob Berry stood out for the visitors.
