Durham City have snapped up Washington midfielder James Fairley.
Fairley was a prolific marksman in helping the Mechanics to promotion from Division Two of the Northern League last season, but he has opted to sign for City.
Boss Ian Chandler said: “He can play on either wing or in behind a front two or three. James played for me at Whitley Bay for one season during which he was voted young player of the year.
“James is very talented and it has taken a great deal of work to get this deal done. I’m sure everyone will welcome James and enjoy his performances for Durham City.”
