THE TWR Trade Frames Wearside Combination League is seeking new teams to bolster numbers for the forthcoming 2014/15 season.

The league’s annual meeting in Redhouse WMC had the resignations of The Alexandra and Hylton Colliery confirmed.

Wearside Athletic and Cheers were elected into the league for the campaign ahead, keeping the league complement at 12.

Officials, though, are still keen to attract other teams, and are offering free league fees for the first season.

The league is to receive a cash reward from the FA for renewing its charter standard, which will be ploughed back into helping clubs.

Any teams interested and seeking more information should contract league manager Peter Maguire on peter.maguire@wcfl.org.uk or 07545 549830.

The annual meeting saw presentations made to Paul Taylor of Oddies as player of the season, with Oddies’ Arron Donkin named club secretary of the season.

Hendon’s Gavin Donnelly won the golden gloves award but was not in attendance.
