SUNDERLAND West End hit back from two goals down to edge out Ashbrooke Belford House in a nine-goal Wearside League derby thriller last night.
Ross Kennedy and John Coomber (penalty) had West End two goals up at Ford Quarry before Stephen Bogie cut the deficit.
West End suffered a blow early in the second period when Darren George was sent off and Bogie converted a penalty to level the scores.
The lively Bogie then completed a superb hat-trick and Shaun Petch made it 4-2 in Ashbrooke’s favour.
At this stage, Belford looked good for only a second win of the season, but Brad Foster’s well-taken double levelled the scores and the visitors, who had Petch sent off in the 70th minute, conceded a late winner to Barry Turton.
