EVERTON have completed the signing of FC Copenhagen’s Bryan Oviedo for an undisclosed fee after he was granted a work permit.
The Costa Rica international, who can play at left back or in midfield, was also wanted by West Brom but David Moyes has won the race for his signature.
Oviedo – who has signed a four-year contract at Goodison Park – won two Danish league titles and one Danish Cup during his time at Denmark, with both Copenhagen and FC Nordsjaelland.
Everton assistant manager Steve Round told the club’s official website: “In terms of him as a player he can fill in multiple positions for us, he will be a big asset if we can get him.
“He can play left-back left midfield and left wing, all the way down the left, which will help us and give us good cover in the squad.
“I have seen him on a regular basis, I have been abroad and watched him, as have all the scouts and the manager.
“As yet his is not our player, we have work permits to get, that’s why the manager isn’t doing the media today, he’s in London trying to tie it up and finalise it.”
