DANNY Rose has signed for Sunderland on a season-long loan from Tottenham.
The 22-year-old, who can play as a left back or winger, is Martin O’Neill’s fifth summer recruit joining Steven Fletcher, Adam Johnson, Carlos Cuellar and Louis Saha to arrive at the Stadium of Light.
He will look to replace Kieran Richardson in the Black Cats side after the 27-year-old completed his move to Fulham earlier on Friday.
Rose joined Spurs in 2007 and has since made 29 appearances for the North London side, famously scoring against Arsenal on his debut. His strike would go on to win the club’s goal of the season.
He has since had loan spells at Watford. Peterborough and most recently, Bristol City, before making the move to the Stadium of Light on deadline day.
The Team GB Olympic full-back goes straight into the squad for Saturday’s trip to Swansea.
