ASHBROOKE Belford House will hand debuts to David Baker and Kieron Laws in tomorrow’s bottom-of-the-table Wearside League clash at Coxhoe Athletic.

The Wearsiders are fourth from the basement and manager Tommy Dobbing acknowledges the importance of the clash.

He said: “They are rock bottom with just one win and four points and it is a match we need to win.”

The Wearsiders, though, miss brothers Glen and Elliott Moan together with Mark Green and Brett Wilson. In addition, Michael Charlton’s chances of playing are rated very doubtful.

Coxhoe also have a new player in Mark Ozelton, who has been signed on loan from Norton and Stockton Ancients.

Adam Guthrie, Adam McDonald and Craig Ferguson are also named but Barrie Moses, Chris Woods, Matthew Bayne and Dan Shannon are sidelined.

Redcar Athletic and Stockton Town will aim to put pressure on leaders Ryhope CW when they meet in a top four contest.

The Seasiders are strengthened by the availability of goalkeeper Scott Allison, Lance Skelton, Greg Booth, Jamie Lee and Steve Thompson but this week received distressing news concerning two players.

Andy Bell has sustained a serious knee ligament injury which will keep him out for up to a year while Andrew Heerin will not play again this season after sustaining a double fracture of the leg.

Sunderland West End, pleased at their mid-table position, host Darlington Cleveland Bridge. Manager David Bond reckons the Wearsiders have a score to settle.

He said: “The only time we’ve been outplayed was in a cup tie against them so I want to avenge both the performance and result. I feel we are now getting to grips with the demands of the league and are a much better side than when we played them early in the season.”

A boost for West End is the availability of key player David Keighley while Jonathan Greener also comes into Bond’s plans but captain David Sanderson is again out.

Darlington CB cannot name Brendan Lally or David Vayro but Michael Richardson resumes.

Annfield Plain have a full pool of players available for the home fixture with Cleator Moor Celtic.

Boldon CA are pleased to have goalkeeper Jak Wells on duty and Michael Wright also comes into contention for the visit of Prudhoe Town, who have Chris Winn back from suspension.

Ryhope CW are on Sunderland Shipowner’s Cup duty at Jarrow where manager Martin Swales adds goalkeeper Lenny French, Liam Cox and leading scorer John Butler to his squad. Paul Taylor and Richard Jordan though are unable to turn out.
