SUNDERLAND SUNDAY LEAGUE: Laidler, Salicki and Maggoire edge New Town to victory

Laidler, Salicki and Maggoire earned New Town the win, with Coverdale and Pike replying for Carpets.

Cameron Arthur and Carl Middlemas made easy work of Pennywell Comrades as their goals gave the Cherry Tree the win.

The Stella dropped more points at home to Sunderland Railway Club after they were 2-0 up through Topping and Thompson.

Cabezas was outstanding for The Railway Club and he pulled a goal back finishing a great move.

The Railway then turned the game on its head as Anth Rogerson hit a quick brace to put the Railway in front.

The Stella kept plugging away and they rescued a point when Mark Young nodded home from close range.

Washington Colliery extended their league at the top of Division Two with a 3-2 win over AFC Wearside.

Kyle Mould and a double from Jonathan Roberts earned Washington another important three points.

Wearside did push them as much as they could, but fell short, but had Henry and Brotherson on target.

Millview lost out on all three points as they let the New Tavern back into the game, thanks to Sean Lynch seeing red as Mill View were 2-1.

Lynch scored the opener for Mill View and Harrison replied for the New Tavern.

Midway through the second half, Lewis had the away side in front, but soon after the red, Harrison hit his second to earn a draw for the New Tavern

The Victory Club moved into second place with a comfortable 5-3 win over Hendon Athletic.

Defensive frailties cost Hendon dear and their hard work was undone by the clinical finishing of Dean Machin, who fired four past keeper Chapman.

Wasey, Pearson and Tawaih found the net found for Hendon, and Calvert came off the bench to hit the Club’s fifth goal.

The Park moved within three points of top of the Third Division with a 4-1 win over Park View.

Micky Pattison scored a double, followed by his brother Daniel also finding the net.

Park View pulled one back through Reece Benson.

The Park made sure of their win when Connor Gales fired home after good work from McCollin.

Penshaw kept their promotion dreams alive after beating Ryhope New Railway 6-2.

Brennan finished the game with a hat-trick for Penshaw followed by efforts from Binks, Hayden and Snelling.

New Railway replied through Middlebrook and McConville.
