Hylton Castle TWR produced an excellent display against Jarrow Robin Hood to progress to the last 16 of the Durham County Sunday Cup, winning 5-2.
Kevin Gordon earned the man-of-the-match award as he was a constant threat and, after setting a couple of goals up, he also scored with a clinical finish.
Tom Callaghan was also at his best and found the net twice, finishing great moves. The away side did pull a goal back in each half, but the deadly Hylton forward line put their team further in front after Liam Wooton scored.
Then, late in the game, starlet Kieran Martin came off the bench to hit Hylton’s fifth goal, setting up a home tie against Stockton Portrack in round three on Sunday, January 10.
Stockton Hardwick brushed aside a strong Myers side in their tie.
Myers had expected a tight game and they had a team to potentially come out winners on the day, but it ended badly for Jamie Owens as his men were thumped 7-0.
Ryan Moore was star man in defeat for Myers.
