Houghton Kepier schoolgirl Poppy Pattinson has earned another international call-up for England Under-16s’ friendly against Germany.
Poppy already has an international cap to her name when she played against Holland for England Schoolgirls earlier this year.
The call up is proof to all that after all the hard work she has put in, she is now getting her rewards.
But now she will get her chance for the Under-16s at the end of this month.
Her father, Keith Pattinson, said: “It is an incredible achievement for her to get another call up.
“The call up is proof to all that after all the hard work she has put in, she is now getting her rewards.”
Having spent the last four years at Teesside, Poppy recently moved back to Sunderland Centre of Excellence and is training with the club’s under-17 side, with the aim of progressing into the Sunderland Ladies senior team in the future.
And she is also having one-to-one training with former Sunderland player Martin Scott at Kepier School.
Keith added: “I cannot thank Sunderland enough for the work they have done with Poppy.
“She is back at Sunderland now where she belongs and all their efforts are showing with this call up to the England team for Poppy.”
