SILKSWORTH Rangers aim to complete the double over Annfield Plain when the Wearside League sides meet for the second time in four days tomorrow, writes MALCOLM PRATT.
After thrashing Plain in the league, tomorrow’s encounter gives Rangers the opportunity to progress in the Monkwearmouth Cup.
Rangers are boosted by the availability of six players. John McLean, Michael Renshaw, John Turvey and Dylan Holden will compete for starting spots alongside new signings Andrew Baxter and Glen Hargreaves.
Sunderland West End break new ground at Richmond Town where Stephen Bogie and Anthony Stubbs could play a part, but goalkeeper Scott Young is ruled out.
Peterlee Town are at bottom club Wolviston, where they expect to name Luke Page and Farran Pope in their squad, but injuries sideline Brett Gillat and Liam Dunn.
Easington Colliery chairman Paul Adamson has delayed announcing his side to host Boldon CA. The Colliers are still looking for a manager to replace Denis Brown.
“We are hoping to bring someone in with a coaching background and with determination and enthusiasm to match that of the committee,” said Adamson.
“We are a growing club with seven junior teams and more to follow. Our double aim is to develop the youngsters and return to the Ebac Northern League as quickly as possible.”
Boldon have Michael Meek and Paul Hobson banned.
Jarrow miss Lee Brand, John Tennet and Paul Trosh against Prudhoe Town, who anticipate fielding their first-choice line-up.
Willington are at Northern League Seaham Red Star in the first qualifying round of the FA Carlsberg Vase.
