SILKSWORTH CW were well beaten 4-1 by visitors Seaton Carew in last night’s only Wearside League fixture.
The Colliers faced an uphill battle after conceding goals to David Wilson, with a cracking free-kick from 25 yards, and Matthew Kelsey, inside the opening half-hour.
Kelsey made it three early in the second period. Although the returning Craig Lines threw the Wearsiders a lifeline with his strike on the hour, Seaton soon re-established a three-goal cushion through Robert Hammond.
Any hopes Silksworth harboured of saving the game ended on 79 minutes when Rob Hall was shown a second yellow card.
