JARROW moved off the bottom of the Wearside League with last night’s shock 3-2 win at Silksworth CW, who would have gone third had they won, writes MALCOLM PRATT.

The Wearsiders made a dream start as leading scorer Liam Gill notched his 22nd goal of the season with only six minutes on the clock.

Just before the interval, Peter Kane levelled for Jarrow, but, immediately on the resumption, Silksworth were ahead for a second time courtesy of Michael Brunning.

Jarrow hit back again with Dean Black’s thunderous 25-yard effort, giving goalkeeper Joe Clayton no chance, and, midway during the second half, Grant Pressling volleyed in the winner from fully 20 yards, clinching only a second league success for the Tynesiders.
