RYHOPE CW face up to one of their sternest tasks of the Wearside League season when they line up against Cleator Moor Celtic at Recreation Park tonight.

The Wearsiders have a two-point lead at the top of the table over Stockton Town in what is virtually a two-horse race for the Championship but the Cumbrians have not ruled themselves out despite trailing the Colliers by 14 points.

Senior players Phil Hall and James Dunn definitely go without injured pair goalkeeper Neal Bussey and Greg Swansbury and await news on the fitness of a quartet of players.

Richard Jordan, Nathan O’Neil, Jack Pounder and James Cook all picked up knocks in Saturday’s victory over Boldon CA.

Silksworth CW play the first of three games in six days when they host Annfield Plain.

Secretary David Steele is looking for a first win in three home games and although Michael Brunning comes into the plans of manager Mark McGinley, Silksworth will be unable to call upon Liam Hodgson in the remaining games. Also on the injured list for tonight is Leon Symonds.

The Plain have slipped to fifth bottom and a blow to them is the news that goalkeeper Grant Scott will be sidelined for some weeks with a knee injury. The visitors have used a number of players in goal and tonight could see another change with James Davies taking over.

Redcar Athletic could move into third place if they defeat out-of-sorts Prudhoe Town.

The Seasiders are hoping for more of the same from striker Adam Preston who netted his second hat-trick of the season on Saturday.

Alex Anderson started his first match in over four months and came through unscathed after being involved for nearly and hour. He is also included in a strong pool of players while Prudhoe miss the suspended Shaun Sagar but his brother Marc has work commitments.

Wolviston are on South Tyneside for their fixture with Boldon CA. Ian Danby has returned home from Somalia and is named along with Karl Lilley but Ryan Hebb is sidelined.
