RYHOPE CW returned to the top of the Wearside League table with last night’s 2-0 victory over Seaton Carew.
A hard-fought game was decided by two second-half goals.
Jack Pounder struck on 52 minutes in a goalmouth scramble and, 10 minutes from the end, the pressure on Ryhope was relieved as Nathan O’Neil converted a penalty.
The Seasiders gave an excellent performance and it was easy to see why they have moved into fifth place following some outstanding displays in recent weeks.
