RYHOPE CW signed off the season in style when they defeated Wearside League champions Stockton Town 2-0 to lift the Monkwearmouth Charity Cup, writes Malcolm Pratt.

They went ahead on 35 minutes when Jack Pounder was brought down and Nathan O’Neil fired the penalty past goalkeeper Michael Arthur.

It remained nip and tuck, but the Wearsiders just about made the tie safe with Chris Winn’s 85th minute strike.

Ashbrooke Belford House won the League Cup and Easington Colliery clinched the Sunderland Shipowners’ Cup.
