MOST managers would have been happy taking seven points from the three holiday games – but not Durham City’s Dickie Ord, writes Malcolm Pratt.
He was just “a little disappointed” that the Citizens didn’t manage a hat-trick. Following back to back wins over Harrogate RA and Clitheroe, Ord was confident in Monday’s game with Ossett Albion, but in the end he had to settle for a draw.
“Although I was a bit down at conceding a couple of points, I’m pleased that we have got over a baron spell which we endured during November and the best part of December.
“I feel we are now back on track and go to Warrington Town tomorrow, 11th in the Evo Stik League Division One North but only four points outside the play-off places.
“A win could put us right back in the mix and we’ve got to go all out for all three points” said the former Sunderland defender.
A huge boost for Ord is the return of captain Ross Wilkinson who last month has 30 stitches inserted in a head wound.
“It’s great that Ross has come back earlier than anticipated and he’ll definitely be involved tomorrow” added Ord.
David Dowson though is struggling with a calf injury and Amar Purewal will be sidelined for another couple of weeks with his knee problem.
